BEFORE THE TOTAL

What belongs in your
hair system budget?

Get a written quote for the system and services you actually plan to use. Keep each cost once, and keep unanswered questions open.

Systems
Use the final price for your selected options, then multiply by all systems you plan to buy in the next 12 months—including the first one. The quantity is your planning assumption, not a promised replacement cycle.
Fittings & cut-in
Count the first fitting once. Add other planned fitting visits separately. Confirm which cutting, attachment and styling services are covered; do not count the same visit again as maintenance.
Maintenance
Enter a price per visit and your planned visit count. Ask what removal, cleaning, reattachment or adjustments the quote covers. Doing work at home may change visits and supplies; it does not make every cost disappear.
Supplies
Use your own monthly spending estimate for items such as adhesive, tape, remover and care products. The tool multiplies it by 12. If a package covers the whole amount, record where it is included.
Delivery, tax & discounts
Enter shipping and tax for all planned orders, not just the first. The tool does not calculate tax. Subtract only a discount you have confirmed applies to this plan; a first-order offer may not apply again.

KEEP THE GAPS VISIBLE

Unknown isn’t free.

Choose “Not sure yet” when a cost is unresolved. A partial result is a known-cost subtotal, not an all-in budget. Use “Included elsewhere” for a fully covered expense and identify the line that covers it. If only part is covered, enter the extra amount you still expect to pay.

Questions to ask for a quote

CHECK THE EDGES OF THE PLAN

Some costs sit outside.

Travel, time away from work, repairs, emergency appointments and contingency funds are not separate inputs in this calculator. Keep a separate note for costs that are not covered by an amount you enter. A complete result means these tool inputs are resolved; it does not guarantee every future expense.

TWO QUOTES. ONE CLEARER COMPARISON.

Compare the same scope.

  1. Start a separate Plan B. Use “Add a second quote” at the top of the tool. Its fields start empty, so the first seller’s costs are not assumed for the second.
  2. Match the 12-month assumptions. Check system specification, quantities, fitting, maintenance and what each package includes. A lower total for a different service is not automatically a better deal.
  3. Resolve the gaps, then keep a copy. Unknown fees remain unknown. A definite difference appears only when both plans are complete. Download both plans in one CSV; this is a planning estimate, not a recommendation to buy.

Still waiting for an itemized quote? Take these questions to your seller. Check order and return conditions separately before paying.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

Before you fill it in.

I don’t have a quote yet. Where do I start?

Use the quote checklist to ask for an itemized system and service price. You can start the calculator with any confirmed number and leave the rest unknown. Our worked example explains the arithmetic with invented numbers; those are not typical prices.

What if I don’t know how many systems I’ll need?

Leave the quantity as “Not sure yet” until you have a planning assumption. Ask what a seller’s replacement estimate is based on. The tool does not choose a lifespan for you, and changing the quantity does not automatically add fitting visits or shipping.

How do I handle a package that includes fitting?

If the full first fitting is already in the system price, mark “First fitting & cut-in” as “Included elsewhere” and select “Price per system.” Confirm what the package covers. A later fitting or maintenance appointment may still be extra.

Is the monthly average my monthly bill?

No. It is a complete 12-month estimate divided by 12. Purchases and appointments may happen at different times. This website’s calculator, comparisons and downloads are free; the hair systems and services are bought separately from sellers.
